Vineyards

A Remarkable Sense of Place

A true sense of place is more complex than one might imagine. It embodies all the factors that influence the production of wine grapes in a given vineyard — forming an ecosystem defined by climate, grape variety and rootstock, geography and topography, as well as soil characteristics such as mineral composition and water availability.

The idea behind this is ancient, dating back to the Greeks who were among the first to understand and study the relationship between land and wine.

In Kathikas, nature has gifted us a unique combination: abundant sunshine, a dry, cool climate, the gentle sea breeze from the Akamas Peninsula, and distinctive soil traits. Together, these elements give rise to an elegant, mineral-driven Xynisteri with subtle spice, depth, and refined texture.

The picturesque village of Kathikas lies just twenty minutes north of Paphos. As the oldest winemaking region in Cyprus, its landscape is dotted with vineyards stretched across verdant hills. The fertile soil and cool sea air make this area exceptional for vine growing — and ideal for crafting wines of character and expression.
